When one is retired---or unemployed---all the days of the week are pretty much alike. Each has 24hours in it----now what does one do ??---didn't we do THAT yesterday? What do YOU wanna do Alphie??----I am on my third cup of coffee here folks---and looking at my day planner here ---its a blank page so far. Yes I know the time is for anything I care to do---this being my golden years----but looking at my check book----need to scratch off about 2-3000 things from the list of possibilities (sigh). Read a book, (gawd knows I've done that already), go to a movie (not at those prices---can rent it from Netflix for a third of the cost), take a drive and try to think about gas costing $3.85/gal here in Sherman Oaks.-----maybe go into one of the many chat rooms , gripe about there being to many kids in the room and starting a riot----nah, that's to easy. Actually what I really must do today is go grocery shopping---so with THAT being the highlight of my day, will spend a few hours on planning meals for the week, and composing my shopping list----and visiting on line with the Short-cuts site and add coupons to my account, and then the store will automatically apply them to my bill when I go to pay for those particular items-----and of course one must ALWAYS be on the lookout for that rare sighting of Cauliflower w/Cheese sauce------
---Three hours later----never got around to doing the shopping list, got distracted with my email, midge sent me a number of impressive pics taken at the space station and I am thinking about doing a slide show thing for this page-----have decided that I can go to the store tomorrow, I forgot I still got the fixin's for the dreaded macaroni and cheese dinner (heh, heh, heh). I also got into reading a new book from the Library, titled "Germ". (when the movie comes out it most definitely will not be a "Chick flick"), the author is Robert Liparulo.---I also got to looking at my blog settings and revised them, so guess now when ya click on my page you get this "WARNING WARNING, SITE MAY CONTAIN ADULT STUFF" or words to that affect and you get the choice of continuing or not-----and I figure since I am 3 score plus 10---plus---its okay if I lapse into anglo saxon from time to time and not have to say pardon my language all the time---what the HELL right??----well guess I will go back out on the patio and read some more of "Germ"-----oooh for your information Judi---yes we will be eating the damn broccoli with the macaroni and cheese tonight-----(ha ha)----

Living Dangerously---
Should my blog bore ya and you find yourself looking over my page for anything that MIGHT be more interesting to you----you will no doubt see I have a Temperature sign, boldly advising you that the Temperature here in Sherman Oaks is ---yada, yada, whatever. NOW, those that KNOW me, know I do NOT Live in Sherman Oaks, nor do I pay the high taxes in said village---However, I DO live a half of a block just outside of Sherman Oaks and share the same Zip code. So the Temp Sign is pretty much what my weather here is---right outside of Sherman Oaks. To further complicate the matter-----my personal letters and mail reflect that I live in Valley Glen---we actually have signs posted on our borders stating you are now Entering Valley Glen. It USE to be part of Van Nuys, Ca. but we Valley Glennites rebelled, petitioned and split off couple three years back-----but I have found that if I am signing up at this or that web site, where a zip code is called for-----THEY do not recognize Valley Glen. So by posting a weather sign for Sherman Oaks, telling people I REALLY live in Valley Glen---but the government, and the telephone people insist its Van Nuys----I'm living dangerously near the edge----and losing contact with reality-------ooooh no!!-----there be dragons out here??
Its A Plot
----I'm an old person, like what do I know----I mention that I was hunting for cauliflower w/cheese sauce and not finding it stocked in the stores anymore----and do I get any sympathy??---nah---I get comments saying---"never heard of it!", or "Frankly I like Corn myself"-------don't you people understand whats happening here-----the powers that be are taking away our veggies----our political candidates won't mention anything about this, its a hot button of discontent I tell ya-----frankly I think its a dastardly plot by the Jolly Green guy-----
Those who have read my earlier blogs, you heard about my trials and tribulations trying to buy frozen cauliflower W/Cheese sauce-----now are you ready for this----I had a young person (I will not mention any names) actually comment that they had never even HEARD of Cheesy Cauliflower!!?? It makes one wonder just what kind of education children are being given these days? Trust me, the person in question here did not live THAT sheltered of a life-----but to reach adulthood and then make such a claim-----never even heard of cheesy cauliflower!!----that's scary. People like that actually are allowed to vote for president-----, we already have one President that publicly admits he doesn't like broccoli, -----whats left people, is it gonna be just a green beans, carrots and peas world??

May Day--Mayday!!!!
Today my daily new Van Gogh gadjet died---so much for my Page's "Culture" image. (aw shucks!---gall darn it!!). On the good side of things, balanced my checkbook, ----dared to look downstream (aka planning ahead)---and held a discussion with the LP----and we have come to a general aggeement that its time to upgrade from analog to digital TV-----(yaaaaaaaaaa!). This will not happen real fast, first us old dudes need to get eddicated on the ins and outs of digital TV---plasma, or LCD---27 inch, 32 inch or bigger?? 720psi, or 1080??-----its gonna be a long summer(sigh). any advice on the above will be much appreciated. Also, glad to report that in the not to distant future---lets say maybe mid-next week, hopefully will be able to add some new pics to the old blog page----which should make you younguns smile, knowing how none of ya can write, and only work with pictures----(if their isn't an explosion or car chase sequence everry thirty seconds it must be a chick flick right?) (not that there is anything wrong with Chick flicks----have to admit kinda enjoyed "Sleepless in Seattle", being the last of the Jimmy Durante fans that I am.)
