Wuz UP Dudes & Dudettes?

Don't ya just hate it when you hear the kids talk on line both in their emails, as much as they
re online chat dialog. You hear em talking like that, while on the news you listen how the teachers unions are spending millions and millions of the teacher union dues on TV Political ads, for or against various politicians---and teachers are out on the picket lines demanding ever higher pay ---here in Los Angeles we got one School district that I swear must be bigger than Long Island----its famous for spending hundreds of millions of dollars to build one high school, only to determine its built on a contaminated waste dump----. A couple weeks back the school district allowed the teachers to take an hour off and go picket around the school to protest the State governor's plan to cut school budgets to help balance the state budget (The teachers felt the budget should be increased not cut, and taxes raised to pay for it)---what kills me they were paid, while picketing, not by the Union, but by us tax payers, and the kids missed an hour of class time--- and they wonder why the kids out here in California talk like they do---wuz up with this educational policy?

Meanwhile, Back At The Ranch----

It occurs to me that my last few posts have been waay to introspective, and selfish---I thought perhaps a change of pace was in order,---maybe time to give ya a shot of reality---(which most of would no doubt love to skip--but---hey its MY reality not yours, so you can kinda think of it as a fantasy--unreal, unimportant etc, etc, etc)---anyway, here are a couple pics taken at the castle Matilija here---one is my Orchid farm---consisting of two, count em , orchid plants (Look out Nero Wolfe---there's a new "kid" on the block), the other pic is taken moments ago looking out from the Living room here ---my position when blogging is just to the left, but the pic gives ya a view of the backyard, the pool ----the current outdoors temp at 5pm is 87 degrees F.

"And THEN I Said---"

The beauty of being a senior of my age is I can say almost anything and nobody but nobody ever listens to me---if they even bother to listen to me, they just file it under "old dude is crazy in the head (---least he doesn't drool---much)----and move on.
Anyway have made some changes in my page, got kinda confused for a time, deleted stuff I didn't want to and then had to put it back----which was kinda interesting as I had to first remember how I put it there in the first place----but well did it, but probably didn't set any land speed records getting it done (not in Wayne's class of skill of web site creating etc, etc, etc---not to mention my toes are just plain unspoiled canvases still).
As you now may have noticed I have boldly and shamelessly promoted and begged for others to subscribe to my blog ---and yeah I know that does make me out to be kinda Pathetic---but I'm 71 for crying out loud---hell been living five miles outside of Hollywood for the last 23 years and I STILL haven't been discovered.---I'm starting to think maybe I am running outta time and need to be a bit more egotistical and draw attention to myself (ready for my closeups now Mr. DeMille). At MY age, Pride is an expensive Luxury----besides pretty sure waay to many people are laughing at me for not getting rid of my possession's and lining up at the public welfare trough---free food, free medical, free housing----gonna go take my meds now and lay down------fraid Your stuck with this prideful old dude, to stubborn to let anyone pay his way-----now whats this crap about no movie tonight??------

Was It Something I Said?

I of course do read the comments to my posts, and I kinda had the impression their was some interest in hearing more about "moi", so have posted a lot of personal stuff in the last few posts, but I don't see any feedback pro or con----I seem to get more comments and reaction to my off the wall rants or bizarre humor----(I think in a previous life I must have been a clown---who knows maybe even a Jester to the king? (now that kinda appeals to my inner ego)

I, in error deleted the "Flame Burner" stuff from my page, so have spend the last hour getting reconnected , and NOW have in error deleted some other icons I didn't want to lose and now will have to go back in and find and re-install----well nobody said blogging was just pure fun, its work sometimes too.

Will be making that trip to the Library this afternoon---need more reading material, I get the shakes if I don't have a few unread books laying around.

Well back to putting my page back the way I want it------laters ya all-----

Another Tuesday

Well here I am in the middle of yet another Tuesday---pretty sure it must be Tuesday, for two reasons. One the pool man coming through our side gate woke me up this morning---and I know he comes on Tuesdays. and the second reason is , the LP gave me his shopping list, which is yet another Tuesday ritual set in stone. So it MUST be Tuesday. (I'm glad we had this little talk and cleared this issue up).

I went to the supermarket, clutching the LP's list of must have this week stuff, and threw myself into the store which is slowly re-inventing itself----all the goods and edibles are there----someplace---one merely has to be patient, and have the eyes of a hawk ----. What did we learn at the store today Daddy?? ---For some inexplicable reason, Hebrew National meat Products are bunched together in one corner of the store----and not with the rest of the bologna, wieners, and luncheon meat offerings---its almost like they are ashamed to be seen in public---IS Hebrew National going out of business maybe? (They sure are hidden away in the new Ralph's store)
I spent the better part of an hour looking for mini quiche Lorraine servings, and also could not find those little hotdogs wrapped in pastry (aka pigs in a blanket)----so purchased a large fresh baked quiche from the bakery----hot dogs and Pillsbury crescent rolls and will assemble and cook at home----aside from those two fiasco's, I got the graham crackers, the corn beef hash (which is not the same as just plain corn beef---one has to be careful reading labels), got the brown free ranch eggs, got the champagne, got the book of stamps, got the 20 bucks cash----and returned to the castle---(remembered to pick up the mail as I came in--yaaaaah two new movies from Net Flix).
I put the groceries away, listened to the LP's blue remarks regarding Ralph's not having pigs in a blanket, and party mini quiche Lorraine bites, but then saw that he probably saved a few pennies by my buying the real stuff and cooking it a home ---I grabbed a cold bottle of water and slunk out to the patio---finished the last chapter of my current book, and am now all set to take all my books to the library tomorrow---gonna take Joyce's suggestion and stock up on the Author James Patterson's books, "7th Heaven", "The sixth Target", "Double Cross", "Maximum Ride" and "Sail"-----that should keep me in reading material for two or three weeks.
Since its the LP's job to set the menu for Tuesday, have checked with him and we are having the tasty and filling, scrambled eggs (with just salt and pepper to taste), slices of fried corn beef hash, and cold sliced tomatoes. So cooking dinner for us tonight will be quick and easy---making scrambled eggs is such a great way of ridding ones self of any pent up frustrations---one can really beat the hell out of the eggs----by the time I finish washing up after dinner, should be in a nice relaxed mood for tonight's entertainment, (one of the netflix movies or disc two of the new cable TV show series we have started "Huff", we watched the pilot and the first two episodes the other night.)
