At what point do I commit to a lease on a new place----are they still available??, the escrow clock is ticking, and moving day is approximately 2/14---but to where is still to be determined. Then there is the chore of packing up all of the kitchenware, glassware, etc, etc, what to do with the funiture is still up in the air, depends on what place I end up choosing to move to, and availabilty of said premises----did somebody just giggle and mutter "storage costs"?
if the above wasn't enough I also am due for my car registration and smog check-----when do I turn off the utiliites-----and when do I sign up for the new utililites?? Is there life on Mars?----stay tuned for the answer to these and other exciting questions---meanwhile there is a cold beer in the fridge-----(lol)
As I read your post I have a visual of you muttering all these questions very fast, with your head moving from side to side with a wild look on your face! (Is that about right?)lol
ReplyDeleteIf I were you I'd get the new place ASAP...the rest will fall into place after that.
Good luck Gary!
You are finally back!!! My coffee in the morning does not taste the same when I can read your posts. Moving is not so bad. It seems overwhelming but once you make a commitment on a place you can get organized. Why don't you come down here and stay a couple of days or longer if needed and look around for places. Once again you can store your things at our commercial building until you find a permanent place. Love you.
ReplyDelete(1) do not turn off electricity while there is still cold beer in there.
ReplyDelete(2) What have you seen so far? anything catch your fancy? If not, RUN GARY RUN!!! Set aside two days JUST FOR YOU, and meander with good intentions!! You WILL find THE place TODAY. Then LOOK. Picture yourself there. Don't like it? Then run to the next place.
(3) Don't "take it cuz it's there. You have to LIVE there.
(4) Walk the sidewalk. Look around the corner. Does it FEEL right? No? Run to the next place.
(5) Storage WILL cost, but not as much as the wrong choice.
(6) GRAB THE STORAGE PLACE.
(7) You can stay in a motel for several days while LOOKING and doing laundry to calm your nerves.
(8) If you don't want to take it, leave it. Sell it with the house. Donate it to charity or family. Have an indoor yard sale!
(9) He travels best who travels light.
I love you ol dude
Hope you can make a decision on a new place sounds like your old place is going fast. That's great with the housing market as bad as it is and people having a hard time selling there houses, you really got lucky.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with your decisions on a new place, and storage sounds like a good idea, just don't move in your self! LOL
Whew, I did not realize you had a contract on your place already. That is fantastic. As far as the rest of your concerns go, "One day at a time":)
ReplyDeleteGary it will all work itself out. You have lots of help and you have a lot of places to stay until you figure it all out. I think first off you need to figure out what are you like and start looking there. Let me know if I can do anything?
ReplyDeleteI will endeavor to hold that thought---"it will all work out"-----it will all work out---it will all work out----(aren't I suppose to be clicking my heels together??---it will all work out, it will all work out-------
ReplyDeleteDrink the beer, pack the kitchen, grab the food and go!
ReplyDeleteIt WILL all work out, everything does, and you'll be just fine in the end, so breathe, have a beer, relax and take things one step at a time.
Seems you have a little following of people that are more than willing to share their views, so use that. We're here for you Gary!
Wow ... that was fast. Congratulations on getting an offer so quickly.
