It had been a fair week, I returned to the palace with my fresh load of fluffed and foldeds, only to find water had backed up in my shower ----two hours later the plumber climbed back out from under the house, and I could tell by the look on his face, that it was not just bad news, but really bad news. His opening remark was , "Its wet under the house---" he said other things but at that point I was kinda not listening-------.
Well they worked from midday to dark Thursday, and back at it at 9am today and they just left about 30 minutes ago, just before 5pm, the repairs done, I won't upset you with the price of the repairs--suffice it to say I am going to go down to the used book store, and see if I can find a cheap copy of 101 ways to cook pasta, and I have cancelled Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and if I thought I could talk him into it, would not turn on the lights after sundown, and only work with daylight---but then I would also have to give up my blog and---well forget that idea.
Us two old dogs will survive---it just won't be quite so much fun as it had been--(sigh)---so as the week ends we consider ourselves fluffed, folded and SPINDLED BIG TIME.

Sounds just like us with our ROOF issue.
ReplyDeleteHoping you have better luck than we do with the lottery tickets.
Bear((( )))
So sorry to hear about your plumbing woes...but happy to know you are ok. It also explains "where" you've been...pacing the floor.
ReplyDeleteCheck online for those 101 ways to cook pasta recipe's, and Rice is good too Gary...just in case you get tired of pasta. Wish I lived near you, I'd cook you two guys up some good grub and bring it over.
Bless your heart, what a mess a little thing like water can do.... Hope you dry out soon, from the sobs I mean! Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteWhere have you been the last few days!! I hope all is well. With the exception of the plumbing.
ReplyDeleteNow I understand your absence. You've been sitting by the crawlspace of your home praying for good news from the plumber. It sounds like the news wasn't good but I guess it could always be worse. Bless your little hearts. Wish I could send you some eggs.
ReplyDeleteAh, the stories of water ! it is wellknown, the stories of taps which leak, of water evaporating lead us to pay exaggerated sums to plumbers who become billionaires ! (excuse me I am not sure it is written in good english)
ReplyDeleteAw, that sucks Gary. If it's any consolation, I've cancelled the last 5 Christmas's just to be able to afford this house. Every year we try to do a little something for each other, but for the most part, it's all about keeping things rolling.
ReplyDeleteAt least you were fluffed first!
Sorry about the bad news. I,too, wish I lived closer. Not a great cook, but my food won't kill ya. Bright side is, you shouldn't have any plumbing problems for awhile.
