The Party goes on

Guess its "Bricks" night tonight----we have had to listen to what three nights of a continuous stream of Donk's telling us they can't afford this or that, that our health system doesn't cover every body, that our union teachers are swamped with ever larger classes, and poor pay, that American business can't compete with foreign business, that are banks are bad, our housing is inadequate, and ---well gee they have an endless list of what is negative about america. Makes ya wonder why they haven't moved ?? The Donk's philosophy basically is, your entitled, and if your not better off then its the governments fault, not YOURS.
I agree the country isn't perfect, yes it could be made better----who is president however is irrelevant. All the good or bad about the country can be laid at the feet of the National Congress. It is they who pass the laws , raise or lower taxes---and otherwise create the situation we currently find ourselves living with. It is those we send to congress that determine the welfare of the country, not the damn figurehead president.
I am also damn tired of listening to one party proclaim the country is nothing but one problem after another , this from people if they stop to think will find out they are living a better lifestyle than their parents had. (wow, how did that happen?). Similarly I am tired of the other party telling me everything is hunky dory----. I wanna hear from both candidates not so much what they are for---but some plans on just how to achieve that---neither party is putting out any details---just platitudes-----I feel your pain---"screw you"---.
In the next two months runup to election---come on people, don't settle for platitudes, ask for JUST HOW you plan on dealing with that problem Sir?"----then vote.

  1. Clearly you are spending too much time on Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune if that's what you think the convention has been like. You might want to actually watch a little before you comment on it again?

    Just sayin.

  2. P.S. Just saying over and over again that the President is "just a figurehead" and that nobody is "giving details" or that the Democrats are spewing negativity doesn't make it so. It just makes it sound like you aren't paying attention.

  3. just saying-----the donks are kinda a sad group----they chant I am poor and I deserve more-------who past the laws in effect today, the congress---who voted for what? even "Brick" voted for the iraq war intially--yes he has since changed his mind----the presidency can only act in conjuction with the cngress----thats where the power lays and too where the blame lays

  4. Well, there you go, Gary. You are clearly Not Paying Attention. Barack Obama did not vote for the Iraq war. As for the rest of your assertions, it sounds like you haven't been listening very well. It's fine with me if you really don't care, but it would probably be better not to make blanket statements based on hot air minus facts.

  5. I'm sorry but he did vote yes on the resolution---but thats not my point----my point is the congress said yes, but now its a few years later, and people have changed their minds maybe---but its the congress that rules. Obama is against the Irag war, he NOW wants to move the troops to Afganinstan---not being a military expert, who am I to say yes or no. What have the "donks" said good about america so far?

  6. Uh, Gary, helloooooooo in there! Barack Obama was not even a member of the United States Senate when the resolution to go to war against Iraq was passed. That very day, he was in Chicago leading an anti-war rally.

Barack Obama has repeatedly said that only in the United States of America could he have had the opportunity to go to good schools and make something of himself, an opportunity he wants to extend to every child in America.

Pay attention! Ranting needs to have at least a LITTLE basis in fact or it's just NUTS.

  7. And about Afghanistan, which is where the terrorists who hit us on 9/11 came from, I recall very clearly Pres. Bush telling us all that he would hunt down Osama Bin Laden. Instead, he started a war in Iraq that we are mired in today, and what happened to the plan to capture Bin Laden?

  8. It is the Congress' fault, not just this one, but over last 30+ years, forgetting that they are a co-equal branch of the govt. I note that Article 1 is Congress, Article 2 is the President.

  9. Its nice of "Brick" to acknowledge that here in the USA he was given the chance ot go to good schools---but when was the right taken away from all other kids? You are right he wasn't in office at the time of the Iraq war resolution---I mis-read an article and confused it with Biden's record. I'm still waiting to hear what "Brick" and the Donk's have to say that is good in America.?

  10. I'm still waiting for you to give any indication that you have actually listened to one word that has been said by the Democrats. Or whether you have misread them all.

  11. And by the way, Gary. As fired up as I do get about this election, and as riled up as I get to you, I hope you realize that I am not personally attacking you, in fact, I suspect I might even like you.

I am the youngest of five children, and grew up in a family where we all expressed ourselves LOUDLY and we didn't always agree. And we still hugged good night.
